Histoire résumée	The S 10 is a side-by-side Open Class self-launching sailplane which first flew in 1986. The engine is located in the fuselage below the wing center section driving a propeller in the nose via a carbon shaft passing under the cockpit. For operation under power, the nose cone is moved forward to provide clearance for the folding propeller blades to be extended by centrifugal force. Once the engine is stopped, the blades fold back and the nose cone is retracted. Transition from power to sailplane is very quick with almost no drag penalty. The S-10 V model has a variable pitch propeller providing increased rate of climb and cruising speed. The U.S. Air Force Academy operates 2 S 10?s as the TG-11 A model (S-10 VT) with a turboscharged Rotax is in development. ATC
