| Infos techniques | Braced high wing monoplane of wood and plastics construction. Single wing bracing strut on each side. Wings have wood and plastics-tube basic structure, and shaped styrofoam core covered with plastics skin. Airbrake in upper surface of each wing, well inboard of aileron and close to trailing-edge. Main load-bearing structure of cabin is of plastics-coated plywood, faired at rear to a plastics tailboom. Cantilever tail unit comprises a sweptback fin with horn balanced rudder, a small ventral fin and a low-set, non swept one-piece all-moving tailplane. Non retractable tricycle landing gear. Steerable nosewheel.
Powerplant : one 26 kW (35 HP) JLO two cylinder two stroke engine driving a two blade fixed pitch pusher propeller. |
| Histoire résumée | Le prototype du Frelon, construit par Jacques CALVEL, spécialiste des matériaux composites, a été présenté au salon du Bourget en 1979, et son premier vol était prévu pour le mois de mars 1981. A cette époque, une trentaine de liasses de plans avaient été vendues à des constructeurs amateurs, et Jacques Calvel prévoyait de commercialiser son appareil en kit.
